Affordable and Fast Printing in Long Beach CA!

		I have ink in my blood. I started out in the printing business when I was 16 years old. I wanted to be a graphic artist like my dad, and also his dad...so I chose "graphic arts" as my elective class in the 11th grade. Little did I realize how much of a difference the "s" in graphic arts makes when compared to "graphic art". Even though the class wasn't what I had expected, I did well enough in it that the teacher (Gerald "Tex" Krumm at Jordan High School if he ever decides to Google himself) convinced me to take his ROP Offset Printing class. I took it my senior year for my last two periods of the day, much to my mother's dismay. She asked me "what are you ever going to do with that?". Well..the Monday after I graduated high school, I went to work for Greens Printers and Lithographers as an apprentice in their pre-press department. I was making plates and proofs for the largest press in Long Beach, a 5-color 40" Heidelberg Speedmaster. After a year at Greens, I spent 5 years at a smaller printshop, Printmasters, where I learned a lot of other aspects of the business, such as bindery, stripping, mixing ink, customer service, making copies, you name it, I did it. In 1998 I moved on to Kelly Paper Company, the west coast's largest cash-and-carry paper distributor. I worked my way up to store manager of the Long Beach store. In March 2010 it was time to move on...this time I decided to put my experience to work for myself. After spending 17 years working in every aspect of this business, I opened Kustom Deluxe Printing. I chose the name because it sounded "retro" to me...and if you know me, you know retro is how I roll, whether it's rockabilly, or vintage Tiki, or surf music, or mid-century modern architecture...I wanted to combine my love of all these things into a business I could feel good about waking up to in the morning. So yeah, if you were to cut me open, I would bleed cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. But don't do that. 'Cause I would probably die. See ya at the next rock n' roll show.... Jason
